At Eye Care Institute we offer not only eye health services, but non surgical cosmetic treatments to help you look and feel your best. Botox Cosmetic offers a quick and easy solution to firm and younger looking skin.
How it works
For years, doctors have been using Botox as the go to solution for fixing wrinkles, frown lines, forehead lines and more. Wrinkles resulting from sun damage or gravity cannot be fixed with Botox. Botox injections work by inhibiting the signals between the muscles and nerves, thus stopping the muscles from contracting. This process allows the wrinkles to soften and lay flat.
What does the procedure involve?
Botox treatments take just a few minutes and don’t need sedation or anesthesia. Using a tiny needle, Botox is injected into the specified muscles. After three to seven days, you will notice the effects of your treatment. Two weeks before your treatment, you need to make sure to avoid taking any anti-inflammatory medications to diminish the chance of bruising.
Headaches and bruising are the most common side effects. Drooping eyelids have also been reported but this side effect is rare.
How often do I need Botox injections?
Your Botox injections can last around four months. As the effects of the injections wear off, muscle action and reflex will slowly return, and you will notice the reappearance of wrinkles. As you regularly get Botox injections, the muscles are trained to relax longer.
Am I a good candidate for Botox?
If you are breastfeeding, pregnant, or suffer from a neurological disease, you should not get Botox. Also, Botox does not work on all wrinkles. To determine if you are the right candidate for Botox, arrange a consultation with Eye Care Insistute
